Memorial of the Federal Public
Prosecutor's Office



Inaugurated in 2005 and overlooking Paranoá Lake, it exhibits historic furniture, pictures and pieces coming from Rio de Janeiro (former Brazilian capital). Two multimedia terminals reveal the agency's operations – including the changes brought by the 1988 Constitution – and its role as a guardian of the law and defender of society.

Museum of the House of Representatives


Created in 1998, it has no physical space. Its collection includes the historical furniture of the Tiradentes Palace (Rio de Janeiro); works by Volpi, Di Cavalcanti and Alfredo Ceschiatti, among others; as well as protocol gifts, rare books and documents. The exhibits are performed through temporary exhibitions and cabinets of art.

Museum of the Federal District Military Police




Opened in 2015, its collection includes the first Federal District flag raised at the Buriti Palace, plaques, medals, uniforms, insignias, bronze busts, photographs, professional identification cards, motorcycles, cars, trucks, and equipment used in civil disorder control.

Museum of the Federal Military Justice


Opened in 1995 and revitalized in 2008, it presents panels that narrate more than 200 years of the institution's history, with canvases depicting Dom João VI, Dom Pedro I and Dom Pedro II, as well as the military patrons Duque de Caxias (Duke of Caxias), Marquês de Tamandaré (Marquis of Tamandaré) and Santos Dumont. The museum hosts areas with ancient furniture, Justice statuettes, 19th and 20th century's watches, military uniforms and decorations.

Museum of the Press


Inaugurated in 1982, his collection includes the English press Machado de Assis (1833), a Rio de Janeiro City plan and a copy of the Official Gazette with the law declaring slavery abolished in Brazil. In the circuit, you will find different types of printing presses besides ornaments, printing plates, book corners, uniforms and furniture. At the end, a surprise: the visitor receives a certificate printed by a 1922's machine!

Museum of the Superior Court of Justice


Opened in 1990, it preserves the furniture of the former seat of the Federal Court of Appeals (Rio de Janeiro) in different environments, and also canvas, photos, robes, statuettes and manuscripts. A second exhibition, Espaço Memória e Ação, shows the history of the STJ through objects and multimedia terminals. The Cultural Center promotes visual arts exhibitions.

Museum of Veterans Memory


Opened in 1985 and reopened in 2008, it tells the performance of Brazilian soldiers in the World War II and the role of nurses in the conflict. On the panels there are newspaper clippings, a map of Italy and statistics on the number of prisoners, dead and wounded. In the display cases there are photo albums, plates, medals, identity cards, gloves, that is, the material donated by families.

Museum of the Vote


Opened in 2012 at the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) seat, its collection includes voter registration cards since the 19th century; wooden and metal (1940) ballot boxes; canvas ballot bags (1950), ballots, diplomas, old court seat buildings pictures and 1945 furniture, as well as electronic voting machines prototypes. All these items have witnessed the development of the electoral process in Brazil, which is evidenced in the long term exhibitions.

OAB History Museum


Opened in 2003, its 1930-2010 timeline presents statuettes of Justice, display cases with rare works of Rui Barbosa and the complaint for the impeachment of former President Fernando Collor. There are tributes to Sobral Pinto, Evandro Lins e Silva and Myrthes de Campos. Special highlighting to the desk used by Mrs. Lyda Monteiro da Silva, killed in the attack against the Brazilian Bar Association headquarters – in Rio de Janeiro – on August 27, 1980.

TJDFT Memorial
(Court of Justice of the Federal District

Opened in 2010, it shows the History of Justice, with emphasis on the local Court. In the circuit, you can find the first habeas corpus issued by the institution in 1960. And also the replica of a courtroom and the reconstitution of an office of the Presidency, with 1960's furniture and the busts of the jurists Rui Barbosa and Clóvis Bevilacqua.
